‘Thief of the Trees’ to go on online screen

Iran continues online screening of films by presenting ‘Thief of the Trees’.

‘Thief of the Trees’ animation has been selected for online screening on Friday.

Amid coronavirus outbreak and shutting down of all cinema halls, related institutes have planned to present their works to the audience through online screening.

Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA) is one of the institutes that screen some of its products, including ‘Thief of the Trees’ animation will be available online.

Directed by Rashin Kheirieh, the animation is about a man who decides to build a house by cutting the trees of a nearby jungle.

The man does not care about the jungle, the trees and the animals living there.

After building the house, one night he has a nightmare in which he meets the stolen trees.

Waking up, he realizes that his house is drowned because of the last night’s flood.

So he notices the consequences of what he had done and decides to bring back the trees and the animals to the jungle.

The animation has been screened in France and Brazil. It has also been presented to the film markets of France, South Korea and Czechia.

The flu-like deadly coronavirus originated in China in late 2019 and later spread to more than 100 other countries.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the virus a global pandemic.

This worldwide crisis has affected the film industry and many countries are struggling to contain it.
